Marram Nganyin Aboriginal Youth Mentoring Program provides funding to deliver strengths-based and community-led mentoring initiatives for young people.

Marram Nganyin translates to ‘we are strong’ in the Woiwurrung language of the Wurundjeri People. The program supports Aboriginal young people to be healthy, confident in their identity and culture, and achieve their goals through education, training and employment.

Aboriginal organisations have the flexibility to design and deliver mentoring programs that best meet the needs of Aboriginal young people in their communities.

How to apply for Marram Nganyin

Aboriginal organisations are encouraged to apply to deliver local mentoring programs that are designed and delivered in collaboration with Aboriginal young people.

This model recognises that Aboriginal organisations are best placed to understand the needs of Aboriginal communities.

Successful applicants will be supported by the Koorie Youth Council to design and deliver their programs.

Each program must mentor at least 15 Aboriginal young people aged 12 -25 years for 12 months, and provide regular contact between mentees and mentors.

For more information about the program, please email the Marram Nganyin Aboriginal Youth Mentoring Program team.
