If you’ve enjoyed an Amplify (formerly FReeZA) event and want to help organise the next one or you’re a musician looking to perform, here’s how to get involved in an Amplify’s event.

Join an Amplify committee

Amplify committees are groups of young people that organise accessible music and cultural events for other young people in their local communities across Victoria.

As a committee member you will gain valuable hands-on industry experience in music and creative arts. You’ll also learn about planning, developing and managing events.

You will have an opportunity to gain experience in areas like event management, artist liaison, stage management and technical production.

On an Amplify committee you are also supporting local musicians, artists and performers by providing development and performance opportunities at your events.

Most importantly, your committee is putting on safe drug, smoke, vape and alcohol-free events for other young people in your community to enjoy.

The types of music and cultural events you could help run include:

  • youth stages and performances at community cultural and music festivals
  • art, film and fashion exhibitions
  • music, song-writing and dance workshops
  • live radio shows.

Be an Amplify performer

The Amplify program supports young musicians, bands and artists. It provides performance opportunities in your local community and in state-wide competitions.

If you’re a performer looking to get a gig, contact your local council or shire’s Amplify committee. Let them know you’re looking for opportunities to perform and they’ll tell you what to do next.
