Future Ready (formerly known as Advance) is a fun an exciting way to get actively involved in your local community, develop your leadership skills and have some fun.
Victorian Government secondary schools across Victoria are running Future Ready programs. If you’re in years 7 to 12, and your school is participating, you may be able to get involved in Future Ready.
What is Future Ready?
Future Ready projects are designed to help you, as a secondary school student, achieve your goals, participate in your community and gain practical skills for higher education or employment.
Among other activities, they can involve:
- mentoring and support
- recognised training, volunteering or work-placements
- leadership opportunities
- hands on learning and development opportunities
- inclusive and creative learning opportunities.
What sort of Future Ready activities will I do?
There's a whole range of activities you can do to build confidence, skills and community connections:
- participate in a conservation program
- get involved with the emergency services
- complete a recognised training course
- help plan and lead an event
- run a community radio program.
Benefits of Future Ready
We hope that by participating in this program:
- you will develop skills to apply to your life and future career
- you will get involved in community activities and help influence decision-making
- you will have something great to add to your resume or university or TAFE application.
