New youth space in Morwell

Young people in Morwell will have access to an innovative, contemporary youth space that they will help design, thanks to $4.3 million in new funding from the Victorian Government over the next three years, as announced by the Minister for Youth Affairs Jenny Mikakos on 5 April 2017.

The new Youth Space in Morwell will deliver a range of integrated programs, activities and services to connect young people to education, training, employment and broader community life. Up to $2 million will be allocated for a new building or to refurbish an existing community facility.

The facility will provide links to a range of vital services and activities in one easy-to-access spot, helping young people in Morwell to be actively involved in social and community life.

Over the coming months, young people and the community will be consulted about the best location for a contemporary, safe and youth-friendly space in Morwell.

Young people will be involved in co-designing the layout and operation of the new youth space. They will also shape the type of programs and services to be delivered there.
